Recording the journey…and knitting

what a week! August 8, 2011

This has been a full week or so! To start, Tim had vacation this last week so lots going on.  Last saturday was a visit to the in-laws, my sister-in-law and her family are in from Hong Kong.

Young kids never seem to have a hard making friends, and even though its been about ten months since we last saw them, my niece and son got on great.  Gavin loves to show Mia all the things around  Nanny and Pappa’s, and the “right” way to play with play dough.  Little Mia showed Gavin how to play on an iPad, now he is an avid Angry Birds player (luckily Mama and Dad don’t  have that one so he isn’t playing that only!).

Sunday was Dinner at Memaw and Papa Tom’s, which as usual was good food and good times ;).  Monday was Begining the preparations for a trip…more on that as it develops.  Tuesday was a Trip to Heartland to give blood.  I may have said it before, but it does bear repeating;  I give blood every two months. We can’t always help with money,  but this is something I (and Tim) can do that really makes a difference to many people.  Please, If you are eligible to give, do so!  #now steps down from her soap box#

Thursday was the start of our little vacation to downtown Chicago thanks to my sister-in-law.  We took the Metra into the city and walked to the hotel.  I was a nice little walk, and we were able to take a little break at millenium Park.  We then walked on to the Swissotel. Very nice and I will talk about another day. It was a nice little vacation with my in-laws, sister-in-law and her family and ours.  We went to The Shedd aquarium and the Field museum.  We ate at Gino’s East, Tavern on the Park, Santereni’s, and Berghoff’s.  More on what we did and ware we ate later this week.  We took the train home on saturday.  Oh did I mention that Lollapalooza was going on and it was nuts?

So busy week .
